After a successfully opening PDP session last month, Saturday will see the second Under 14 session of the year as part of Newcastle Thunder’s ongoing Player Development programmes.
Building on 2016’s programme of delivery, 2017 will see further content added into the Under 14 programme.
Thunder PDPs are open access and are therefore open to any male junior player from Year 7-11 regardless of perceived ability, experience or whether or not they play for a community club.
The purpose of the PDP is to develop players in the following areas; Mental & Movement skills, Coachability as well as the technical and tactical elements of the game.
Saturday’s session takes place at Kingston Park stadium, with registration from 10:30 before a two hour event.
The morning will see attendees work on skill development and skill games during the first hour on the main pitch, followed by an hour’s work on movement assessment and functional movement skills.
Players wishing to attend are required to bring with them appropriate training wear for weather, both trainers and boots as well as any protective equipment they may use, such as gumshields and pads.
